Wil Insurance Companies ever have a HEART???

Ok...Now tell me, what makes it cosmetic when your body decides to fight it's own cells and makes your body hair fall out. I mean, did we tell our bodies "Hey body...it's time to loose hair now".

See I have this issue with insurance companies not covering wigs for Alopecia folks that had no control over their hair loss. A disorder that one was basically born with that was later triggered by "LIFE". The insurance companies say that it's not medically necessary...something YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER!

It's amazing because there are SOMEthings that one has control over in order to prevent SOME MEDICAL conditions (Cough Cough)... and low and behold it's covered by the insurance company. Now go figure...politics maybe.

Maybe "LIFE" will just happen to one of the CEO's of these big insurance companies and they have to face "LIFE" withOUT hair! Wanting QUALITY wigs all the time, they'll get tired of dropping 3 to 6 grand on a wig and will possibly start looking for their trusty insurance company to help out. Maybe, just maybe they'll get an EOB that reads "DENIED". We might then see a change...politics.

We Need YOUR Help!!!!
Let's Make HR 5936 a law!
In May, HR 5936 was introduced as the first federal bill for alopecia areata patients. If passed, HR5936 would require Medicaid to pay for one scalp prosthesis annually for those with the most serious forms of alopecia areata. Because many private health care plans base their coverage decisions on Medicaid and Medicare, enactment of HR 5936 will make iteasier for all people with alopecia areata to obtain coverage for hair prosthesis.

HOW YOU CAN TAKE ACTION
Build Support: Now that Hr 5936 has been introduced, it is OUR job to build support for it in Congress. You do that by contacting your representitive in Congress today and urging him/her to co-sponsor HR 5936.
Co-Sponsorship is Vital: Co-sponsoring a bill is how a Representitive demonstrates his/her public support for a bill. The more co-sponsors, the more support a bill has in congress and the greater the chance it will become law. WITHOUT A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF CO-SPONSORS, A BILL WILL BE DROPPED.
Find Your Representitive: To obtain the name and contact information of your Representitive, visit www.house.gov and enter your Zip+4 in the upper left corner. Please send your message by email, fax, letter, phone call or in a meeting.
